This Month’s MMA Birthdays: Randy Couture Turns 52

He remains one of MMA’s most revered figures, an Ultimate Fighting Championship hall of famer and one of two men in UFC history to capture titles in multiple weight classes. Randy Couture turns 52 on June 22.
“The Natural” retired in April 2011 following a knockout loss to Lyoto Machida at UFC 129, but his legacy had long been secured. Couture ranks fourth on the UFC’s all-time list in victories (16) and tied for fifth in appearances (25), winning championships as a light heavyweight and heavyweight. He was a three-time NCAA All-American wrestler at Oklahoma State University and three-time Olympic alternate before he transitioned to mixed martial arts. The Everett, Wash., native was a founding member of the Team Quest and Xtreme Couture training camps. Read more -

Randy Couture Impresses on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Debut

Randy Couture retired from mixed martial arts in 2011 at the age of 48, but since then has appeared in all three of “The Expendables” movies as well as Spike TV’s “Fight Master” and “Gym Rescue” programs.
Now he tackles a new endeavor: ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.”
On Monday, “The Natural” proved that he belongs on the dance floor just as much as he does inside the Octagon with a surprisingly impressive foxtrot during the show’s opening round, scoring 31 out of 40 on the judges’ scorecards.
