Tokoro-Nakamura, Schilt-Siliga Scheduled for K-1 Dynamite

After a demoralizing K-1 Dynamite 2007 performance, Hideo Tokoro will look to make amends by battling the U-File Camp once again come New Year's Eve.

K-1 and Dream parent company Fighting and Entertainment Group have announced that Dec. 31's “Premium Dynamite 2008” event at the Saitama Super Arena will feature a pitting of dynamic grapplers. Popular janitor-turned-MMA star Hideo Tokoro will take on surging lightweight Daisuke Nakamura in a 154-pound contest.

Last New Year's Eve, Tokoro took on Nakamura's trainer and senior, U-File Camp founder Kiyoshi Tamura. Tokoro now-infamously slapped Tamura during the pre-fight referee instructions, an act rooted in tensions surrounding Tamura's controversial departure in 2002 from seminal promotion Rings, which was founded by Tokoro mentor Akira Maeda.

However, Tokoro, who gave up over 30 pounds to the much larger Tamura, was bullied en route to a third-round submission loss. Tokoro looks to redeem himself against Tamura's top student.

Tokoro, 31, last saw action in September, when he dropped an upset unanimous verdict to Atsushi Yamamoto. Conversely, the 28-year-old Nakamura has been red-hot, winning 10 of his last 11 bouts. Anchoring Japan's M-1 Challenge team over the course of 2008, Nakamura has gone 6-0 on the year, having needed only 26 seconds to snag Spaniard Carlos Valeri with a flying armbar in his last outing in October.

FEG has also announced a rematch of K-1 notables under MMA rules, as three-time K-1 World Grand Prix champion Semmy Schilt meets former victim Siala "Mighty Mo" Siliga.

The 35-year-old Schilt has fought MMA just twice in the last four-and-a-half years, nabbing a KO victory over Nandor Guelmino in Serbia this past January.

Siliga, 38, is unblemished under MMA rules at 3-0. The popular puncher's last MMA action came in June 2007, where he bested late replacement extraordinaire Ruben "Warpath" Villareal in 93 seconds. Just three weeks after the Villareal bout, Siliga met Schilt in a K-1 rules bout that saw the towering Dutchman take a unanimous decision.
