Rashad Evans defeated Hector Ramirez by Decision (Unanimous) 5:00 2R
The second night of Fightfest started off with the first semi-final match-up of the Light Heavyweight tournament. Hector Ramirez of Team Oyama would try his luck against Rashad “Sexual Chocolate” Evans, who would display remarkable skills in fighting, taunting, and dancing. The first round was pretty even, with both fighters landing good shots, and then clinching against the fence. Whenever the fighters got tied up against the fence, Evans would unleash a barrage of foot stomps to remain active, and this scored some points with the judges, as well as reducing the mobility of Ramirez. After a nice body shot by Hector, Rashad returned fire with a huge barrage at the bell, finishing the first round nicely. The second round was all Rashad, as he seemed to have the better cardio of the two. One highlight was a nicely executed double jab to single leg takedown combination by Rashad. After absorbing a hard leg kick from Hector, Sexual Chocolate showed the audience his dancing skills, taunting his opponent and again scoring some style points with the judges. The judges were mesmerized enough with Rashad’s performance to award him the unanimous decision, but there was much more to his act than just dancing, as he would show later.
