Dan Quinn vs Mike Macgregor

Jun 8, 2004
Dan Quinn defeated Mike Macgregor by TKO 4:08 1R The first Super fight of the night pitted Mike McGregor against Dan “Hands of Stone” Quinn. McGregor claims to be a famous street fighter, and boasts over fifty fights in the streets. Dan Quinn looks straight out of Van Helsing with his Frankenstein-like appearance. The fight started off with McGregor immediately shooting for a takedown, something you don’t normally see a street fighter do. After landing in Quinn’s guard, McGregor commenced the bombing. Punch after punched smacked directly into Danny Boy’s noggin, to which his corner said, “its okay Dan, he’s getting tired. Let him punch you in the face some more.” Honestly, the referee probably should have stopped the fight here, as Quinn had absolutely no defense for the repeated punishment. After the ref finally got involved, it was only to restart the fight standing, where Mike got some nice strikes in. This one looked like an easy win for McGregor, until a sloppy shot landed him in an equally sloppy guillotine choke. Not something most people would tap to, it seemed as though the street fighter McGregor had no submission defense, so he succumbed to the pressure of the guillotine. Dan Quinn wins by submission (guillotine choke) at 4:08 Round 1. After the fight, the tough as nails Danny Boy excused his performance by grabbing the mike and stating, “I’ve been locked up for 70 days.”
