Sherdog Smashes: Slamming The Door on 2025
Combat sports never sleep. Around the world, people are duking it out for money or personal glory in an organized, hopefully regulated manner right now. Some leagues are more equal than others, leading us to some bonkers fight results and bizarre decisions. Whether watching the news of our various sports, the wild happenings or memorable highlights, there is always something for someone. We want to give you the latter of those three in “Sherdog Smashes,” serving up a feast of carnage worthy of those seated on the “Just Bleed” throne.
For those of you who cannot get enough mayhem from the fighting world, we bring you several emphatic moments across the disciplines of MMA, mixed combat and “boxing.” Try it out.

BODY KICK KO!

We know it may be cheating to display the main event of the only major-organization card running these past few weeks, but it was too good to pass up. With $100 grand on the line—absolutely world-changing money for any up-and-coming fighter, let alone one from developing nation as many of the PFL Africa contenders are—Nkosi Ndebele made Boule Godogo say “Matte” with a body kick ripped from the pages of the Bas Rutten playbook.

“Sushist” is not a happy camper right now, and he took his frustrations out on the hapless Asyljan Tasket. Why is Alexey Meshkov so steamed? He spent much of his career competing with Hardcore FC, only for his record to fall to pieces when a Sherdog Fight Finder investigation determined that Hardcore was so sketchy and borderline criminal that all of their matches lost their pro status.

Over in East Asia, fights seem to always be going on. While this weekend on its face appeared light on MMA content, organizations in the region did not skimp on violence. Eight fight cards played out in Japan and China on Saturday and Sunday alone. At Pancrase 360 in Tokyo, Yuito Yanagawa did not disappoint as he splattered Kalybek Arzykul Uulu in a couple minutes to secure the featherweight belt—yes, they still call it “King of Pancrase.”

Teetering on the edge of professional mixed martial arts was a special rules “extra fight” at KSW 113 between Adam Josef Modzelewski and Piotr Lisek booked at 220 pounds with no elbows. The other stipulation was that the match could last no more than three three-minute rounds, usually a sticking point. Was it pro MMA or an exhibition? You can be the judge, but there is no doubt as to the victor.

We end this by departing the world of gloved combat to one where the combatants only tape their wrists before slugging it out. Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, home of some spectacular highlights—and occasional ludicrous squash matches—produces gems like these almost every event. Fan-favorite former UFC heavyweight Parker Porter is now a star under its banner, with knockout victories in every one of his appearances. We are all Parker Porter.
