“I really don’t care where I want to fight. This is what they offered but I have always wanted to go to China so it is killing two birds with one stone,” Hernandez said to sherdog.com.
Hernandez has four career submission victories and would likely have a clear edge on the ground against Park. Yet, “Fluffy” makes it clear he wants this fight to remain standing even though he has a clear advantage.
“I know he is a good striker and has some submissions. He prefers to stand and bang. So, if you take him down he immediately tries to get up, so I think it will be an exciting fight. Honestly, I want to strike with the guy. I like striking as I grew up kickboxing,” he said. “Grappling is what I added later. Like, I am comfortable everywhere but I’d rather strike. I know I have and advantage on the ground but I want to put on a show and show the UFC what I can do.”
