Bellator MMA on Wednesday announced that Olympic gold medalist and pro-wrestling superstar Kurt Angle will make an appearance at the promotion’s upcoming “Bellator Fan Fest.”
Angle will appear at the meet-and-greet alongside popular Bellator fighters like Tito Ortiz, Kimbo Slice, Ken Shamrock and Liam McGeary, plus Brazilian jiu-jitsu legend Royce Gracie. The event will be held at Dave and Buster’s in Maryland Heights, Mo., on Nov. 5, the eve of Bellator 145 in St. Louis.
Angle’s exact relationship with Bellator is unknown at this point. A press release issued Wednesday stated that the 46-year-old “signed” with the Viacom-controlled organization, though no mention was made of Angle as a competitor. Rumors have circulated regarding a possible bout between Angle and Ken Shamrock, though nothing has been confirmed.
Angle will be present at Bellator 145, where it’s expected that an announcement will be made regarding his position with the promotion.
