Bellator NYC/180 Medical Suspensions: Fedor Emelianenko Faces Possible 90-Day Layoff
Fedor Emelianenko is facing the longest potential medical suspension of anyone on the Bellator NYC “Sonnen vs. Silva” card following his first-round technical knockout loss to Matt Mitrione this past Saturday.

Emelianenko and Mitrione landed a rare double knockdown during an initial exchange in the heavyweight co-main event. However, “Meathead” was able to gather his bearings more quickly than his opponent, and he was able to pound out Emelianenko with punches from above to earn a stoppage at the 1:14 mark.
No one else on the card received a suspension longer than 30 days,
while everyone who competed was sidelined at least seven days, per
the stand post-bout wait period. Bellator NYC and Bellator 180 took
place at Madison Square Garden in New York.
