Donald Cerrone Provides Positive Update on Health Following UFC 238

Donald Cerrone’s condition isn’t nearly as bad as initially feared following his loss to Tony Ferguson at UFC 238.

Cerrone’s right eye swelled completely shut when he blew his nose after the second frame, and the lightweight bout was halted there, giving Ferguson a TKO win. At the post-fight press conference, UFC president Dana White claimed that “Cowboy” had suffered a fractured orbital in the bout.

After having a few days to recover, Cerrone provided what was a surprisingly positive update on his health via Instagram.

“I’m in good health. Thanks for all the messages and concerns,” he wrote. Only air was in my eye. No broken bones nor cracked or broken orbital. Sitting and waiting for the rematch or next fight.”

The loss to Ferguson ended a three-bout winning streak for the 36-year-old Cerrone, who had bested Al Iaquinta and Alexander Hernandez since making his return to 155 pounds.
