Holly Holm Signs Six-Fight Deal With The UFC

Former UFC bantamweight champion Holly Holm has inked a new six-fight contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

The 37-year-old veteran had two fights remaining on her previous contract before the announcement. Her agent, Lenny Fresquez, spoke briefly with ESPN and stated that they were relieved to get the deal over the line.

“I’m very happy with the deal,” Fresquez said. “We worked feverishly with the UFC to get this done.”

“The Preacher’s Daughter” had been scheduled to fight the undefeated Aspen Ladd in her next bantamweight bout on March 2 at UFC 235. However, the fight was scrapped just weeks out from the event, with a clearly frustrated Ladd squarely pointing the finger at Holm as the cause of the cancellation. Holm’s management later stated that she pulled out of the fight due to negotiations being underway as a result of her latest contract extension.

With the news of Holm’s new contract, her next opponent will be a hot discussion as current dual-division champion Amanda Nunes has expressed an interest in facing her next inside the Octagon. As for now, Fresquez didn’t reveal his fighter’s next opponent but said she is ready to go and that fans can expect an announcement soon.

“We’re ready to get to work,” Fresquez said. “I’m sure the UFC will have some great plans to announce for Holly in the near future.”
