Ilir Latifi will lock horns with Corey Anderson in a battle of light heavyweight contenders at UFC 232.
The matchup was announced on “UFC Tonight” Wednesday. UFC 232 takes place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Dec. 29 and is headlined by a women’s featherweight title clash between reigning champion Cristiane Justino and bantamweight queen Amanda Nunes.
Latifi has been victorious in five of his last six promotional appearances. Most recently, the 35-year-old Swede submitted Ovince St. Preux in the first round of their UFC on Fox 28 clash on Feb. 24. Latifi is 7-3 in the UFC and 14-5 with one no contest as a professional.
Anderson, meanwhile, is coming off the biggest victory of his career to date, a clear-cut three round verdict over former title challenger Glover Teixeira at UFC Fight Night 134 on July 22. After suffering back-to-back knockout losses to Ovince St. Preux and Jimi Manuwa in 2017, “The Ultimate Fighter 19” alum has rebounded to win two straight.
