A welterweight clash pitting Khonry Gracie against Oscar Vera has been added to the Bellator 225 card.
Promotion officials announced the pairing on Tuesday. UFC 225 takes place at Webster Bank Arena in Bridgestone, Conn., on Aug. 24 and is headlined by a heavyweight rematch between Matt Mitrione and Sergei Kharitonov. Gracie vs. Vera is expected to take place on the preliminary draw.
Khonry, the son of UFC Hall of Famer Royce Gracie, made his pro MMA debut at Bellator 192, losing a unanimous decision to Devon Brock. He rebounded in his sophomore outing, as he outpointed Ron Becker at Bellator 209 this past November.
Vera, meanwhile, made his pro debut at Bellator 222 where he was submitted in the opening stanza by Robson Gracie Jr., who is Khonry’s cousin.
