After some trial-and-error, Kyle Stewart will step in to face Chance Rencountre at UFC Fight Night 143 in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Saturday.

The Las Vegas-based promotion confirmed the booking to Newsday on Monday. Rencountre was originally paired with Randy Brown, but “Rude Boy” was pulled from the card for unspecified reasons. Then, Dwight Grant was reportedly set to replace Brown but he was not cleared by the New York State Athletic Commission due to an eye issue.

UFC Fight Night 143 – also known as UFC on ESPN+ 1 – takes place at the Barclays Center and is headlined by a flyweight title bout between Henry Cejudo and T.J. Dillashaw. The main card streams on ESPN+ following prelims on ESPN and ESPN+. Rencountre vs. Stewart is scheduled as part of the early prelims on ESPN+.

Stewart, 29, was previously scheduled to headline Legacy Fighting Alliance 59 against Jared Gooden on Feb. 1, but that fight will be scrapped with “Gunz Up” slated for his Octagon debut. The Arizona native owns an 11-1 career mark that includes three victories in Legacy Fighting Alliance and one on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series.

Rencountre saw a four-bout winning streak snapped in his promotional debut, as he suffered a decision defeat to Belal Muhammad at UFC Fight Night 131 this past June. The Alliance MMA representative owns a 12-3 career mark.
