Levi Mowles-Ricky Turcios Tops March 24 Houston Homecoming at Legacy Fighting Alliance 7

Legacy Fighting Alliance's seventh card will be its third in the state of Texas, but its first proper homecoming.

Monday, the promotion announced that LFA 7 will take place at the Arena Theatre in Houston on March 24, with its main card broadcast live on AXS TV at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT. The card will be headlined by a bantamweight contest between 8-0 prospect “Pretty” Ricky Turcios and 21-year-old BJJ black belt Levi Mowles, and also features a flyweight contest between Klayton Mai and Roberto Sanchez (latest odds).

Last September, long-running promotions Legacy Fighting Championship and Resurrection Fighting Alliance announced they were merging to form the LFA, a promotion explicitly dedicated to serving as a development pipeline for up-and-coming talent. Prior to the merger, Houston was the home base for Legacy FC, especially the Arena Theatre, where the promotion staged over 20 events.

Turcios, 23, went 4-0 in 2016 and last March made his Bellator MMA debut, handing the first career defeat to Steve Garcia via split decision. To follow, the Houston native knocked out Gerzan Chaw and Trent Meaux in April and September.

Mowles, 5-1, dropped the first fight of his career to Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran Damon Jackson at Legacy FC 61 last October. The Venus, Texas native returned less than two months later, punching out Jimmy Flick in the second round at Legacy FC 63.

LFA 6 takes place on March 10 at Cowboys Dancehall in San Antonio.
