Mike Tyson Weighs 10 Pounds Heavier Than Roy Jones Jr. Ahead of Exhibition

Legendary boxers Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. will return to the boxing ring for an exhibition bout on Saturday night where no official winner will be announced by the California State Athletic Commission. The pay-per-view event is built on spectacle as it will also see YouTuber Jake Paul take on three-time NBA slam dunk winner Nate Robinson in a professional bout. Additionally, musical performances by Lil Wayne, French Montana, YG and Ne-Yo will take place throughout the evening.

With all due respect to “Weezy F. Baby,” the biggest draw to the pay-per-view is the return of Tyson (50-6, 44 KO). The 54-year-old hasn’t competed in the ring since a humbling defeat to Ireland’s Kevin McBride in 2005. In his prime, Tyson was regarded as an all-time great at heavyweight as he won his first 19 professional bouts via KO, and became the youngest world champion in the division's history. Controversy regularly followed Tyson, who was convicted of rape and never regained top form after spending three years in prison. Competing for the first time in 15 years, Tyson weighed 220.4 pounds for the exhibition contest.

Facing off against “Iron Mike” is former four-division champion Jones (66-9, 47 KO). Once known for his speed and evasiveness, Jones is now 51 and retired in 2018 after spending most of the decade fighting regional-level opponents. The former pound-for-pound great isn’t a stranger to the heavyweight division as he defeated John Ruiz for the WBA championship back in 2003, a move many contribute to the decline of his physical skills, as he never looked the same after dropping back down to light heavyweight. Jones stepped on the scales at 210 pounds.

The Tyson vs. Jones card will air live on pay-per-view for $49.99. The four-fight main card begins at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
