PFL, Dazn Join Forces to Broadcast PFL Events in Europe in 2023

The Professional Fighters League is bringing broadcaster Dazn back into the sport of MMA.

Per a press release on Thursday, the PFL and Dazn are teaming up to put PFL Europe together. This regional league will serve as the feeder to the main PFL organization, and European fans will be able to watch these events on Dazn. Additionally, Dazn will become the provider for every PFL fight card for the “53 international markets” that Dazn covers, including Spain, Ireland and the United Kingdom. According to PFL, this branch of the company will serve as “a pathway to becoming European champion and springboard into the PFL global league.”

The four-year deal does not have additional terms announced, and it will only be for those unspecified nations and localities primarily focused in Europe. Those watching PFL in countries like the United States and Canada will still watch through their various points of entry, like ESPN and TSN. The broadcasts through Dazn may allow for some additional features during their airtime, but those specifics have not yet been disclosed. This will be the first major MMA that Dazn has covered since Bellator MMA left its ranks in 2020 well before the expected conclusion of its five-year agreement. Over the years, Dazn has also played host to organizations like KSW, Combate Americas and even the Ultimate Fighting Championship in some limited markets.

The CEO of Dazn Group, Shay Segev, said in a statement, “With Dazn, fans can either watch in the traditional linear way or enjoy a more immersive and interactive entertainment experience with greater gamification and bolt-on products and services.”

In the PFL, its 2022 season will conclude on Nov. 25 at the Hulu Theater in Madison Square Garden in New York City. Six titles and million-dollar checks will be on the line for the finalists in its respective divisions. The fight card will be capped off by a women’s lightweight trilogy match between Kayla Harrison and Larissa Pacheco, while its co-headliner sees Brendan Loughnane take on Bubba Jenkins for the featherweight strap. The promotion may place a few PFL Europe prospects on its billing, as the lineup has not yet been completed.
