Paige VanZant will complete her current Ultimate Fighting Championship contract in Brasilia, Brazil, when she takes on Amanda Ribas.
The news of the matchup was first reported by MMAFighting.com. UFC Brasilia is expected to go down on March 14, although it has yet to be formally announced. The card currently does not have a main event.
VanZant last fought in January at UFC Fight Night 143, where she submitted Rachael Ostovich. The victory snapped a two-bout skid for the former “Dancing with the Stars” competitor,” who had dropped back-to-back fights against Jessica-Rose Clark and Michelle Waterson. It will also mark her first scrap at 115 pounds since she lost to Waterson in December 2016. At strawweight she is 4-2 inside the Octagon.
Ribas, meanwhile, is on a three-fight winning streak and is 2-0 inside the Octagon. She picked up her first win of the streak in Max Fight promotion, where she defeated Jennifer Gonzalez Araneda by TKO in 2016. Ribas did not fight again until June of this year, when she submitted Emily Whitmire at UFC on ESPN 3. Most recently, Ribas took a unanimous decision over Mackenzie Dern at UFC Fight Night 161 on Oct. 12.
