Tony Ferguson Makes Weight at 155 Pounds for Scratched UFC 249 Event

Tony Ferguson is the type of guy to make weight even when his Ultimate Fighting Championship event is canceled.

On Friday, Ferguson hit his own scales on Instagram live, where he displayed that he would have successfully made championship weight at 155 pounds. Ferguson was scheduled to face Justin Gaethje at UFC 249, where the two would vie for interim lightweight gold. However, a bit over a week before the card, it and all subsequent events were postponed indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic.

It has not been stated whether those scheduled to compete at the canceled event will be compensated, although some fighters that were set to fight at previous shows claimed on social media that they were indeed paid by the UFC. UFC President Dana White did explain that all of his fighters would be taken care of, and that they will all still receive all the fights specified on their contracts.
