A women’s bantamweight tilt pitting Liz Carmouche against Raquel Pennington has been added to the ,a href="/events/UFC-191-Johnson-vs-Dodson-2-42229">UFC 191 lineup.
The bout was announced during UFC Tonight on Wednesday. UFC 191 takes place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sept. 5 and is headlined by a flyweight title rematch between Demetrius Johnson and John Dodson.
Carmouche, who challenged Ronda Rousey for the UFC’s inaugural 135-pound strap, is 2-2 in the Octagon since falling to “Rowdy.” The Strikeforce and Invicta FC veteran last appeared at UFC Fight Night “Mendes vs. Lamas,” where she garnered a unanimous decision triumph over Lauren Murphy.
A cast member of “The Ultimate Fighter 18,” 26-year-old Pennington has split her first four fights with the Las Vegas-based promotion. In her most recent outing, “Rocky” fell to former boxing champion Holly Holm via split decision at UFC 184.
