A flyweight clash pitting Alexandre Pantoja against Deiveson Figueiredo has been added to the UFC 240 lineup.
Brazilian outlet Combate was first to report the bout. UFC 240 takes place at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on July 27 and features a featherweight title tilt between Max Holloway and Frankie Edgar. The evening’s main card airs on pay-per-view via ESPN+ following prelims on ESPN and ESPN+.
Pantoja has won five of his first six promotional appearances. The former Resurrection Fighting Alliance champion last appeared at UFC 236, where he defeated one-time flyweight title challenger Wilson Reis by first-round technical knockout. “The Cannibal” owns a 21-3 career mark that includes 15 triumphs inside the distance.
Figueiredo, meanwhile, suffered his first defeat in 16 career outings at UFC Nashville, where he dropped a unanimous decision against Jussier da Silva on March 23. The 31-year-old Brazilian began his promotional tenure with four straight triumphs, including three by way of technical knockout.
