Gabriel Benitez will lock horns with Sodiq Yusuff in a featherweight contest at UFC 241.
The Las Vegas-based promotion confirmed the pairing on Monday. UFC 241 takes place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., on Aug. 17 and is headlined by a heavyweight title rematch between Daniel Cormier and Stipe Miocic.
The 30-year-old Benitez has won three of his last four UFC bouts. “Moggly” last appeared at UFC Fight Night 129, where he knocked out Humberto Bandenay with a slam 39 seconds into the first round. The Mexican fighter is 5-2 in the promotion and 21-6 as a professional overall.
A former competitor on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series, Yusuff has kicked off his Octagon tenure with back-to-back victories over Suman Mokhtarian and Sheymon Moraes. The Team Lloyd Irvin representative is 9-1 over the course of his pro career, with five wins coming via knockout or technical knockout.
