UFC Fight Night Weigh-in Results: Neil Magny, Kelvin Gastelum Get Green Light in Mexico

Neil Magny has made himself available to the Ultimate Fighting Championship at a moment’s notice. Time will tell whether or not he should have chosen discretion over valor.

A replacement for the injured Matt Brown, Magny clocked in at 171 pounds ahead of his confrontation with “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 17 winner Kelvin Gastelum (171) in the UFC Fight Night 78 main event on Saturday at Monterrey Arena in Monterrey, Mexico. Featherweight co-headliners Ricardo Lamas (146) and Diego Sanchez (145) also hit their intended marks at Friday’s official weigh-in.

UFC Fight Night “Magny vs. Gastelum” -- which will air live on Fox Sports 1 at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT -- will also feature a flyweight clash pitting Jussier da Silva (126) against 2008 Olympic gold medalist Henry Cejudo (126), a lightweight duel pairing MMA Lab export Efrain Escudero (156) with Leandro Silva (155) and the two tournament finals for “The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America 2,” as Erick Montano (169) meets Enrique Marin (170) and Enrique Barzola (155) faces Horacio Gutierrez (154).

Two hours prior, Fox Sports 1 will carry four preliminary bouts: Erik Perez (136) vs. Taylor Lapilus (136), Hector Urbina (171) vs. Bartosz Fabinski (170), Scott Jorgensen (135.5) vs. Alejandro Perez (135.5) and Gabriel Benitez (145) vs. Andre Fili (145). The three remaining undercard matchups will stream to UFC Fight Pass at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT, as Vernon Ramos Ho (170) battles Alvaro Herrera Mendoza (171), Cesar Arzamendia (155) confronts Polo Reyes (155) and Valmir Lazaro (155) challenges Michel Richard Cunha dos Prazeres (156).
