Will Brooks-Nik Lentz Bout Officially Rebooked for Nov. 18 UFC Fight Night 121 in Sydney

To no one's surprise, Will Brooks and Nik Lentz have been officially rebooked against one another for UFC Fight Night 121.

Late Sunday night, Brooks took to social media to confirm the well-founded suspicions that he and Lentz would get a do-over on the upcoming card. The lightweights were originally set to meet earlier this month at UFC 216 in Las Vegas, but Lentz was pulled from the contest before that Friday's early weigh-ins due to medical concerns, canceling the bout.

“Re-Booked. Hopefully he shows up this time. UFC Fight Night 121,” Brooks tweeted out on Sunday evening.

UFC Fight Night 121 takes place Nov. 18 at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia, headlined by a heavyweight clash between former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum and rising Polish contender Marcin Tybura.

Brooks, 31, signed with the UFC in June 2016 after racking up a 17-1 pro record and capturing the Bellator MMA lightweight title. However, “Ill Will” has had a rough run in the Octagon so far: after besting Ross Pearson via unanimous decision in his UFC debut, Brooks has dropped consecutive bouts via stoppage to an overweight “Cowboy” Alex Oliveira and more recently, Charles Oliveira at UFC 210 this past April.

The 33-year-old Lentz suffered his own recent submission loss to “do Bronx” Oliveira, succumbing to a third-round choke in May 2015. Following the loss to Oliveira, “The Carny” returned to the lightweight division, taking wins over Danny Castillo and Michael McBride before losing a lopsided unanimous decision to Islam Makhachev at UFC 208 in February.
