Robbie Lawler was inches away from ending things at almost every step of the way, but none of his shots cleanly connected. Lawler stuck to his gameplan all the while Nick Diaz talked trash, begging him to stop running.
Early in the second round, Lawler tried to throw a combo, but Diaz unfurled a furious and crippling right cross. Once it landed, the fight was over. Ruthless was almost Toothless as the fight was quickly halted at the mark of 1:31 of the second round.
