Preview: UFC 324 Prelims
Miller vs. Fugitt
Welterweights
Ty Cole Miller (6-0, 0-0 UFC) vs. Adam Fugitt (10-5, 2-3 UFC)
BETTING ODDS: Miller (-370), Fugitt (+265)
Fugitt finds himself back on gatekeeper duty here. A late-notice signing back in 2022, Fugitt got on the greater radar with a surprising win over Solomon Renfro on the regional scene, scoring a quick knockout against a hot prospect after being on the shelf for over two years. That result showed off that Fugitt could be crafty in terms of picking his spots, but the UFC has consistently put him in over his head since he signed with the promotion. His UFC debut came against current contender Michael Morales, and bouts against Mike Malott and Islam Dulatov were clearly set up as showcases for his opponents. However, Fugitt has found a few wins, in part thanks to being surprisingly durable—though not unbreakable—and looks to find another upset against a recent Contender Series standout in Miller.
Miller’s still on the raw side of things but has the consistent pace and output that often make a good prospect. Blessed with some solid size for a welterweight, Miller can occasionally just run through an opponent, but his Contender Series win showed an ability to put together three strong rounds. Fugitt will likely bend for a while before he starts to break, but Miller should continue to pour things on until he cracks the fight wide open. The pick is Miller via second-round stoppage.
