Carlos Condit: By The Numbers

Carlos Condit has accomplished much in his 15-plus years as a professional mixed martial artist, but “The Natural Born Killer” has fallen on hard times of late.

The former World Extreme Cagefighting champion will carry a career-worst three-fight losing streak into his battle with Alex Oliveira in the UFC on Fox 29 co-main event this Saturday at Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona. Condit has become something of an afterthought in the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s welterweight division following consecutive defeats to Robbie Lawler, Demian Maia and Neil Magny. Even so, the Jackson-Wink MMA standout wields quite a resume, with wins over Nick Diaz, Thiago Alves, Rory MacDonald, Jake Ellenberger and Dong Hyun Kim.

As Condit sets his sights on Oliveira, here are some of the numbers that have come to define him:

1: Loss by knockout or technical knockout. It was the result of a knee injury suffered against Tyron Woodley at UFC 171 on March 15, 2014.

4: Men other than Condit who have held the WEC welterweight crown. They are Diaz, Shonie Carter, Karo Parisyan and Mike Pyle.

6: Countries in which Condit has competed as a professional mixed martial artist. They are the United States, Canada, Brazil, England, Japan and Mexico.

7: Post-fight bonuses earned as a member of the UFC roster. Condit has been awarded “Fight of the Night” on five occasions and “Knockout of the Night” twice. His total haul: $440,000.

13: Wins by submission. Condit has used a variety of methods, with five victories by armbar, three by rear-naked choke and one each by guillotine choke, kimura, triangle armbar, triangle choke and arm-triangle choke.

15: Wins by knockout or technical knockout.

21: First-round finishes to his credit. They account for 70 percent of his career win total.

33: Years of age. When Condit was born on April 26, 1984, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the top five movies at the domestic box office were “Police Academy,” “Romancing the Stone,” “Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter,” “Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan” and “Splash.”

294: Combined victories between the 11 men -- Magny, Maia, Lawler, Woodley, Johny Hendricks, Georges St. Pierre, Martin Kampmann, Pat Healy, Jake Shields, Satoru Kitaoka and Carlo Prater -- who have defeated Condit.

1,414: Total strikes landed in UFC competition, per FightMetric. That number ranks sixth on the promotion’s all-time list for welterweights. Only St. Pierre (2,523), Jon Fitch (2,039), Diaz (1,536), Chris Lytle (1,533) and Magny (1,446) have landed more.
