Ultimate Fighting Championship lightweight Olivier Aubin-Mercier is already scheduled for his next fight as he will take on Gilbert Burns at UFC 231, the Las Vegas-based promotion announced Friday, just weeks after Mercier’s loss to Alexander Hernandez.

Both men are coming off of losses, with OAM losing to the aforementioned Hernandez in a relatively competitive fight last month, while Burns was knocked out for the first time against Dan Hooker at UFC 226 on July 7.
The lightweight division has quickly become a marquee weight class again with the return of former champion Conor McGregor taking on current title holder Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229; Dustin Poirier is set to take on Nate Diaz; the promotion announced Thursday that Tony Ferguson will lock horns with Anthony Pettis.
UFC 231 takes place on Dec. 8 in Toronto.
