In what has become something of an annual tradition, the cost of the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s premium events will increase heading into beginning of the new year.

According to a report from the Sports Business Journal, UFC pay-per-views will increase in price from $74.99 to $74.99 beginning with UFC 283 on Jan. 21. The decision “reflects the value of ESPN+ and the popularity and quality of UFC events,” per a statement from Disney. The update is not expected to affect the cost of the ESPN+ subscription, which is currently $9.99 per month following a 43 percent increase in price from $6.99 in September.

This marks the third consecutive year that the price for UFC pay-per-views has been raised. At the beginning of 2022, pay-per-view events were increased from $69.99 to $74.99 after raising the cost by $5 from $64.99 the previous year.

After news of last year’s pay-per-view price hike came to light, UFC president Dana White claimed that the promotion had no input on the price of its signature events.

“We don’t have any say in that,” White said in January. “We gave the pay-per-views to ESPN, so that’s their decision.“You know how I feel about that stuff. I don’t love when prices get raised, but it’s not my decision, it’s their’s.”

UFC 283 takes place at Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro and is headlined by a light heavyweight title tilt between Glover Teixeira and Jamahal Hill. In the co-main event, Deiveson Figueiredo will defend the flyweight belt against Brandon Moreno in their fourth championship meeting.
