To say Sage Northcutt had a rough One Championship debut would be an understatement.

After being knocked out by Cosmo Alexandre in just 29 seconds at One “Enter the Dragon,” Northcutt revealed on Instagram that he spent nine hours in surgery to repair “eight fractures” suffered as a result of that bout. Through it all, “Super” Sage maintained a sense of humor.

“Fresh out of surgery….I had [eight] fractures and a nine hour intense operation,” Northcutt wrote. “Feeling blessed for the amazing care and all the support from [One Championship], my family/friends and fans! My Terminator face is not too shabby. ‘I’ll be back. Next post is catheter removal… stay tuned jk.”

Northcutt entered Friday’s bout on a three-fight winning streak, with all of those victories coming under the UFC banner. The 23-year-old owns an 11-3 career mark. A former Bellator competitor, Alexandre has won eight consecutive bouts, but his fight with Northcutt was his first MMA appearance in nearly three years.
