Four competitors exited UFC Fight Night 35 a little richer, as Luke Rockhold, Cole Miller, Yoel Romero and Derek Brunson each received $50,000 in post-fight bonus money. Rockhold picked up “Knockout of the Night” for his dominant victory over Costas Philippou in the evening’s main event, which aired on Fox Sports 1 from The Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Ga. The card also saw Miller earn “Submission of the Night” honors after tapping out Sam Sicilia, while Romero and Brunson shared “Fight of the Night” for their hard-fought middleweight affair.

The former Strikeforce middleweight king controlled his brief outing with Philippou from start to finish, using his reach advantage to keep the hard-hitting New Yorker at bay before cracking him with a gorgeous counter right hook and then finishing him with an accurate series of body kicks midway through the opening period.

Miller also enjoyed a sizeable length advantage over Sicilia in their lightweight contest and used it aptly, dropping the “TUF 15” alum with a sharp right hand in round two before cinching a fight-ending rear-naked choke.

Brunson took charge of his 185-pound showdown with Romero in the early going, catching the Olympic silver medalist with clean shots and scoring takedown through the bout’s first 10 minutes. Round three belonged to “The Soldier of God,” however, as Romero blasted a fatigued Brunson with a series of crisp punches before finishing him on the ground with a nasty flurry of elbows to the ribs.
