Jon Jones will not face a petty misdemeanor battery charge after reaching a plea deal regarding his involvement in an April incident at an Albuquerque, N.M., strip club.

During that time, the UFC light heavyweight champion must avoid legal trouble and cannot consume alcohol or drugs. Additionally, Jones is on unsupervised probation and can’t return to the strip club. His no contest plea is not considered to be an admission of guilt in New Mexico.
Jones initially pleaded not guilty to the battery charge. At the time, Jones’ spokesman, James Hallinan referred to the accusations as “malicious lies” in a prepared statement. A spokesperson with the District Attorney’s office told Albuquerque-based station KOB 4 that the accuser did not wish to cooperate in the case, and witnesses were unable to confirm the allegations against Jones.
Jones has defended his belt three times in the span of less than a year, most recently taking a five-round split verdict over Thiago Santos at UFC 239. The Jackson Wink MMA standout had expressed a desire to compete again December, but as of now it doesn’t appear that will come to fruition.
