WSOF 6 Weigh-In Results: Burkman, Carl Cleared for Headliner; Prelims Stream on Sherdog

The World Series of Fighting’s inaugural title bout will move forward as planned, as both Josh Burkman and Steve Carl were cleared to compete at Friday’s WSOF 6 weigh-ins.

Burkman (169.6) and Carl (169.6) will do battle over the vacant WSOF welterweight championship live on Saturday night from the BankUnited Center in Coral Gables, Fla. The evening’s main draw airs live on NBC Sports Network and will also showcase a bantamweight co-headliner pitting top-10 talent Marlon Moraes (136) against twice-beaten prospect Carson Beebe (136).

Former top-five welterweight Jon Fitch (170.4) will also see action on Saturday, as the ex-UFC title contender looks to rebound from a two-fight skid against Marcelo Alfaya (172). Lightweight prospect Justin Gaethje (155.8) will also compete during the broadcast against UFC alumnus Dan Lauzon (158).

The evening’s preliminary draw streams live on Sherdog.com immediately prior to the NBC Sports Network telecast and is topped by former World Extreme Cagefighting bantamweight ruler Miguel Torres (145.2), who meets 13-fight pro Pablo Alfonso (145.4). UFC veteran Jacob Volkmann (155.4) and former Bellator tournament participant Alexis Vila (135.6) will also compete on the preliminary card, locking horns with Luiz Firmino (156) and Josh Rettinghouse (135.8), respectively.
