Sherdog Official Mixed Martial Arts Rankings

Aldo on the Move

While there may be some argument as to how great Fedor Emelianenko is, there's no debating that he's still the greatest in the heavyweight division.

The Last Emperor's dramatic, drop-of-a-hat dashing of Andrei Arlovski on Jan. 24 has generated questions -- he was losing handily through the first three minutes -- but also affirmed, with another brilliant win on a lengthy resume, that the sport has never had a finer heavyweight.

Former featherweight ruler Urijah Faber needed just 94 seconds to polish off Jens Pulver for a second time in San Diego. However, despite designs on regaining his WEC crown and 145-pound supremacy, the weekend's real mover and shaker in the featherweight division was a 22-year-old pistol out of the Amazon named Jose Aldo.

For now, the rankings may have to settle with some moderate jostling, but with UFC 94 set for Saturday night, Super Bowl weekend should provide some serious resculpting.
